Matariki Ring in Oxidised Silver
This oxidised silver ring features 7 tiny hand-pierced stars representing the Pleiades or the Seven Sisters constellation.
Matariki is celebrated in Aotearoa New Zealand when the constellation Pleiades rises above the horizon in midwinter. For Māori this marks the start of the new year and the brightness of the stars is traditionally used as an indicator of the coming season’s crop.
This ring is a size P. The band measures 1.5mm thick with a varying width of 5.5 to 7mm.
